About Pralor Le Peille ...
Le Peille is a stylish newly-built semi-detached chalet in an old farm, L'Alpage du Pralor, between the beautiful village of Manigod and the ski station of La Croix Fry.
With excellent sound-proofing, this stunning secluded, but not isolated, property is in a south-facing chalet, the last property in a lane off the main Manigod road, so you won't be disturbed by passing traffic.
You'll need your car, as it's a 1km walk to to the ski bus stop in the winter, 4km to La Croix Fry and 3km to the shops and restaurants of Manigod. However, the advantage of this quiet location is the stunning view across the Manigod valley to the mountains beyond.
In the summer the farm is surrounded by lush green pastures, which are flat around the property - a great place for children to play. There are also stunning views of the sunset at the end of each day from the terrace to the side of the property or the jacuzzi.
Local craftsmen were brought in for the construction, using traditional methods and stone from the old farm where possible, to ensure the building sits comfortably in its surroundings.
The property ...
No detail has been left to chance in the design and furnishing of this fabulous property.
Sleeping 8 people in 4 en suite double bedrooms (one of which is on the ground floor), Le Peille comfortably accommodates four couples, two families or a large group. Each stylish bedroom has two single beds which can be joined to make doubles on request, and sumptuous French bed linen, in line with the owner's determination to support local businesses.
There is plenty of storage in each room, as well as a flat screen television with French and English channels, and wifi is available throughout the property. Most bedrooms also have a desk and chair. The bathrooms are stylish and modern, and come complete with soft towels and bathrobes.
In the open plan living area, the well-equipped oak kitchen, which has windows on two sides to make the most of the fabulous views and the light, was built by a local carpenter, and makes cooking for a crowd a pleasure. The top-quality furniture and soft furnishings were chosen with the help of an interior designer, and combine rustic mountain style in neutral colours with modern comfort.
When it's cold outside, snuggle up on the cosy L-shaped sofa in front of the woodburning stove, but in warmer weather you'll want to be relaxing on the sunny balconies, or enjoying a barbecue on the west-facing terrace. Skiers will appreciate the ski racks and boot warmers and will love relaxing in the jacuzzi & private hammam after an exhilarating day on the pistes.
About the area ...
When you stay at Le Peille, your peaceful surroundings could make you feel like you're miles from anywhere. In fact, the pistes of La Croix Fry are just a few minutes' drive away and parking is free.
The whole of the Annecy ski resorts, including La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, are easily accessible, giving you more than 200km of skiing. Floodlights on some of the pistes mean you can even ski until 1am in La Clusaz on certain dates, and the weekly torchlit descent is an experience you'll never forget. Plus there are dedicated pistes for trying out paret racing, a home grown Manigod sport!
Cross-country skiers will find plenty of trails to choose from, and non-skiers are not forgotten, with a heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, ice skating rink and cinema, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and horse-drawn sleigh rides. For the ultimate in winter fun, try paragliding on skis or ski joering - skiing while towed by a horse!
We'll be happy to welcome you in our sports shop Veyrat Sports located at Manigod-Croix Fry, where we will keep a parking space for you on request, right at the bottom of the ski slopes.
After all the exhilaration of a day in the mountains, the hot tub & steam room at Le Peille is the perfect place to relax and unwind.
In the summer, there’s no better place to catch the sun than the terraces of Le Peille (each of them with a table and chairs for eight). But with so much to discover, you’ll regret it if you don’t get out and explore a little!
There’s no shortage of walks, from mountain trails to hiking on the Gliéres or those to the Beauregard plateau which begin at the front door. There is a table tennis table on the deck to the rear of the chalet.
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, mountain-biking, karting or white-water rafting - just some of the activities on offer within a few miles of Manigod. Via ferrata is a great family day out, with children as young as eight able to explore the mountains on iron walkways, secured to a harness. I
if your idea of a holiday is a little less energetic, try the free open-air swimming pools at the Col de Merdassier, sample the other open air pools at Le Grand Bornand or in La Clusaz, or pack up a picnic and enjoy a gentle nature walk.
A day out to the beautiful lakeside town of Annecy is a must. Explore the shops and museums in the morning, lunch at a lakeside restaurant, and you've got the rest of the day to swim in the crystal-clear waters, hire a boat or try some of the watersports on offer.
If you think a holiday at Pralor Le Peille is right for you, check your dates against our calendar - we can hold them for 24 hours if you would like. But don't wait too long - this stunning property is very popular with guests of OVO Network.

The OVO Network Review
“Le Peille has a terrace to the west of the chalet from which to catch the sunset every night.”
The beautifully renovated Alpage du Pralor is an old farmhouse which has been split into two very smart semi detached rental properties each for 8 people, Le Nova and Le Peille. The renovation took into account that sound proofing needed to be effective, balconies have wooden barriers to give privacy, terraces are on opposite sides of the property for the same reason.
Each property has 4 ensuite bedroom and is spread over three floors. Each is a perfect base for those who value nature, space and simply stunning panoramic views. Virtually every window is like the frame of a picture postcard! With very good quality workmanship and craftsmanship throughout the build itself, natural fabrics and colours, a hammam and an outdoor jacuzzi thrown into the mix too, each property is ideal for one or two families a group of friends, or couples. Or if you are a larger group who prefer some privacy why not rent both properties with friends and family?
The chalet stands alone at the top of a meadow with the forest behind, above a farm where you can purchase fresh milk, cheese and butter. A car is required for access the ski slopes and the local shops, there are some beautiful walks from the front door, and a huge meadow surrounding the property for fun in the snow!
Le Peille has south facing balconies and a dining terrace to the west of the chalet from which to catch the sunset every night. There are only shower rooms in Le Peille (there is one bathroom with jacuzzi bath in La Nova). If you don't want to share a garage, or parking spaces this is not the property for you. The two hammams are accessed via the garage, bath robes are provided.
The owners also own Veyrat Sports, one of the ski hire shops at La Croix Fry, so guests have expert advice on which skis to rent or buy on hand!

From the Owner
The chalet is south-facing and so guests can enjoy the sunshine all day long, summer and winter.
The chalet has been built on land which has been owned by the Veyrat-Durebex family for several generations. The original farm was built in 1846 and was on the verge of falling down, so we took it apart before it fell down, conserving all the original materials we could for use in the new build.
We had originally planned to build a family home on this site, but with our commitments with running our sports hire shop at La Croix Fry, Patrice taking care of the snow clearing at the Col, plus the changing needs of our two children as they grew up, we realised this was not a practical solution, so we decided to build a property which could be let to holiday-makers.
We decided to honour the heritage of the site in the names we have chosen for the property. The chalet is called L'Alpage du Pralor - "Pralor" is local patois for "Pré à l'ours" which means "field of the bear". The names of the two rental properties, Le Nova and Le Peille, reflect the traditional division of the farm houses in this region. The side of the farm nearest to the sunrise - Le Nova - was where the animals were housed, and the other part of the house - Le Peille - was where the family lived.
Work began in 2013. We decided to build a "chalet mitoyen" - a pair of semi-detached chalets each sleeping 8, with independent access, independent terraces, plenty of parking and some of the most spectacular panoramic views in the Manigod valley. Even locals cannot help but be impressed by the incredible views.
The chalet is halfway between the ski fields and the village. It is a 4km drive to the Col de la Croix Fry, and Manigod village is 3km away, so a car is necessary, but we feel that the location is idyllic, and the short drive necessary to reach the piste or the village is more than justified by the splendid isolation of the setting on the edge of the forest leading up to the plateau at Beauregard.
The road is kept clear of snow by the commune of Manigod and by Franck the farmer, who lives in the farm just below the chalet. You may also meet his brother Nicolas, as he is the one taking care of the goats. He will happily supply you with fresh farm produce: hard and soft goat's cheese such as chevre and chevrotin, Tomme, reblochon, fresh butter and milk.
Throughout the year, the walking trails of Le Petit Novard, Colomban and Beauregard can be reached from the front door, whether you are walking, jogging or on snow shoes, and because the chalet is surrounded on three sides by mountain pasture, away from busy roads, it is an amazing playground and provides fantastic sledging for children of all ages.
The chalet is south-facing and so guests can enjoy the sunshine all day long, summer and winter. If you stay at the alpage you get the best of both worlds!
We'll be happy to welcome you in our sports shop Veyrat Sports located at Manigod-Croix Fry where we will keep a parking space for you on request, right at the bottom of the ski slopes. All year round we'll be available to advise you on ski and mountain sports equipment. Patrice and Anita Veyrat
Why La Clusaz?
Less than an hour from Geneva, La Clusaz offers Alpine action all year round. A traditional farming village, it not only offers great skiing and superb summer activities, but also a real community feel, whenever you visit. Great restaurants, bars and nightlife combine with local markets, festivals and traditions to give you the best of all worlds.

“We had a good time in Manigod. ”
The house was clean and it was really a private atmosphere. We had much fun on the ski piste and the feeling was very good. Unfortunately the wifi was down at the house because of weather conditions. We want to say many thanks to Anita and the whole team for the help during our stay.

“Sun and snow in November”
A fabulous family week-end in this very beautiful, comfortable and welcoming chalet. The fresh snow was the surprise guest. The sun came too! End a day of snowshoeing in the spa, with the snow, the moon and the starry sky ... what a joy. Thanks to Anita and Patrice for your hospitality and your kindness. See you again, perhaps.

This was a marvellous discovery which we have no hesitation in recommending to our friends. We would love to come back and relax in this wonderful chalet, which is so cosy. The equipment is all top end, and made for a relaxing end to a day of exploring the wonderful footpaths around your village.

“A superb area, a perfect chalet”
Thank you Anita and Patrice for your warm welcome and the gift of cheese. We had an extraordinary week, the area is superb and the chalet was perfect. It combined luxury with the attention to detail which made our holiday so much better. Not to mention the splendid view of the mountains. A very special thank you to Eugenie for the good advice.

“A magnificent stay at Peille, August 2016”
The chalet is superb and very well designed, everything has been well planned, down to the last detail. The location is exceptional, secluded just as we like it, in an oasis of calm and greenery, on the edge of the woods. The welcome, kindness and advice from Anita and Patrice made it even better. We recommend this chalet, and look forward to coming back.

“5 star perfection”
Fantastic views, beautiful setting in the quiet, 5 star perfection and no expense spared according to comfort and design. Anita and Patrice are perfect hosts there if you need them and out of sight if you don't. Plenty of crockery and kitchen equipment, the only thing bad that I have to say is I had to leave, a truly memorable family holiday thoroughly enjoyed by all. Ideally located for shops and annecy bathing, will definately be looking to return in the future.
Mike B. - 06/08/2016
“Many thanks for a wonderful stay.”
We've just had a wonderful trip to the Pralor Le Peille with our parents and our children. The views were incredible, the chalet was impeccably clean and the standard of facilities was excellent. We all thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and exploring lots of different sights locally. Anita was very helpful and we really appreciated the little touch of Reblochon cheese from a local farm. Delicious too! We're just sorry our french wasn't so good.
Tina M. - 30/05/2016

“10/10 for Chalet Peille”
Absolutely nothing bad to say about this splendid chalet! My friends and I loved the nature, the great resort and pistes, and above all our accommodation that we luckily booked last minute! It looks like out of a design magazine, we couldn't believe our eyes! The owners are very nice and will give you the address to taste the best raclette EVER. See you next year!
Cheïda A. - 01/02/2014
“Great service, great location”
You can feel that the owners put all their heart in this beautiful conversion! Bright, functional, stylish, design... and in a stunning location. This is the kind of place you would like to take all the people you love to! A big up for the quality of beds (ideal: all double beds turn into two single beds!), over equipped kitchen (with good quality utensils!) and a steam room to relax after skiing. It would be interesting to do it again in summer...
Haag S. - 11/01/2014
“We instantly loved the place”
Chalet Le Peille... We would prefer to keep this secret for ourselves! But aren't we supposed to share the good things? So here it is: we had a great time in this massive converted farm, housing two semi detached properties. Perfectly sound proof and cleverly organised so that you never bump into your neighbours (different entrance, parking, garden, etc). To cut it short: we didn't see anybody from next door the whole week! The inside is stunning, with furniture, features and accessories of the highest quality. And a hammam to top it off! The skiing domain is only a short drive away and at night you are away from the resort, just surrounded by amazing landscape. It's such a relief for people like us who live all year long in the heart of a big city! Also the owners were very kind and available.
